ESG Policy

ESG Policy

Affinity is a proud ESG leader in Asia Private Equity and has consistently achieved “A” or 4* in both “Policy, Governance and Strategy” and “Private Equity” modules in our last three assessments from the United Nations-supported Principles for Responsible Investment (“UN PRI”).

We regularly update our Policy to address ESG developments. Some of the key milestones of our ESG journey include:

  • 2012: Established the Responsible Investment Policy (“ESG Policy”)
  • 2017: Became a UN PRI Signatory
  • 2020: Incorporated Task Force on Climate Related Financial Disclosures (“TCFD”) into our ESG Policy and investment processes
  • 2022: Launched ESG 2.0 Roadmap
  • 2023: Incorporated the United Nations Guiding Principles for Business and Human Rights (“UNGP”) into our ESG policy and investment processes

Our ESG Policy embraces the six principles of the UN PRI and the ten principles of the United Nations Global Compact. Included in the ESG Policy are sector specific ESG considerations across nine target sectors, including food & beverage, retail, healthcare, education, and manufacturing, and a negative investment list composed of prohibited sectors.

Our commitment to ESG is led by Affinity’s Founding Chairman and our ESG and Sustainability team, and supported by all of our investment professionals. We continue to develop our ESG knowledge base through regular ESG training sessions and firm-wide communication.
